Who: Two mothers of boys sexually abused by priests in Green Bay, parents, victims and supporters.

What: Two mothers will deliver a letter to Bishop David A. Zubik of Green Bay asking him to announce contact information for Green Bay’s newly formed chapter of SNAP- Survivor’s Network of those Abused by Priests. The letter asks him to put contact information for SNAP in the Catholic newspaper The Compass, and on the diocesan website. The group will also ask the bishop to contact leaders of other local church denominations to do the same.

One of the mothers starting the SNAP Green Bay Chapter is Alice Hodek whose son brought charges that resulted in Father James Stein’s conviction. Mrs. Hodek stated: “People have been very supportive since Stein’s conviction and I hope others in the same situation will step forward, contact SNAP, and get the support that they need.”

We are members of SNAP, the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, was founded in 1989 in Chicago. SNAP is the nation’s largest, oldest, and most active support group for women and men harmed by religious authority figures.
